okay purely because i haven’t seen anything on this topic, tumblr has implemented a new Thing.

what thing???

• in-blog ads.
• to coincide with, and probably be the cause of, all of the shit happening with custom themes reverting to their default states, tumblr’s basically allowed advertisers to get premium advertising space on individual people’s blogs. In the web browser, in the app, in the “slide out thing” (their words, not mine).
• and, best of all that was sarcasm if you didn’t pick that one up they’ve opted almost everyone in.
• their plan? pay tumblr users for ad space. what they aren’t doing yet? paying tumblr users for ad space.
• honestly your blog(s) are all opted in unless they contain “sensitive material” so it’s worth a check

So, how do I get out?

• if you’re like me and don’t want yahoo’s bullsh*t moneygrabbing anywhere near your blogs, opting out is an option.
• open up your settings
• click your blog title to bring up your indivdual blog settings
• scroll down until you find this

• and turn it off. done.
• ((obviously if you want the ads there in order to win back some money out of this soul-sucking site, go for it!!))
