You know what? Who gives a shit if that guy got punched. Okay, it happens, yeah, people get punched all the time and generally it’s considered unacceptable, criminal, and that’s that. Stop wasting time debating about whether it was ok to punch him or not and start talking about how dangerous he is.
Like literally, you can even go as far as to say “It’s not fair that you got punched, and the dude who did it should be held responsible. Sorry for your pain. Now let’s address your white supremacy, and no, getting punched doesn’t excuse you from being held responsible for THAT.”
Really, among people who want to stop neo-nazis from doing more harm, do we have time to debate this? Do we really have time and energy to waste on worrying about whether someone breached a code of ethics while confronting a nazi? Must activism come to a dead halt every time an activist seems to step out of line?
Everyone’s here trying to define where that line actually is while the neo-nazis are waaaaay the fuck over there, drawing their own bloody line that says who’s human and who’s not.
And they’re super glad we’re so ethical that we second-guess our beliefs every time we have to be less than polite defending them. Gives them loads of time to get on with their actual vandalism, violent attacks, harassment and murders.
I have negative spoons right now, so I’m going to just reblog this as is. It’s 99% of my view on the Nazi-punching matter.
TL;DR: the left needs to get its goddamn shit together.

“You aren’t entitled to the benefits of other people’s labor!” The capitalists cry, as though CEOs and investment bankers don’t glut themselves on the benefits of the minimum wage worker every day.
