honestly as a lesbian I truly couldn’t care less if straight women lie about being gay in order to stop men from hitting on them. like most lesbians don’t care because it’s such a non issue so if that’s your main tactic to use to avoid unwanted attention, go for it. however let it be known that this comes with a price. calling yourself a lesbian doesn’t make rejecting men easy like it could actually make shit harder and more dangerous. in fact many lesbians don’t tell tenacious men that we’re gay because we don’t wanna run the risk of getting hate crimed. not only that but most often than not if we do say we’re gay men won’t believe us or they won’t care and continue with their antics. so in the end, calling yourself gay is not gonna be the most effective or safest option. just be mindfully of who you call yourself gay around because no joke it could honestly mean your fucking life. and that’s my lesbian two cents.
