anti semitism needs to be taken more seriously as an issue with leftists

and i’m not talking about other people being anti semitic i’m talking about leftists being anti semitic, especially when they vaguely cloak it in anti-israeli sentiment

It’s entirely possible to be unhappy with Israel’s policies and current government and still want it to exist. And it is possible to be Jewish and not be anti-Palestinian. I honestly want to know where they think Israeli Jews would go if Israel was no more? Do they understand how and why Israel happened in the first place? Do they understand why the country has a siege mentality?

Do they understand that the Star of David literally predated Israel?

I’m honestly so taken aback by some of the so-called feminist groups shutting out Jewish women for daring to do anything to show that they are, in fact, Jewish.

The irony is that the less antisemitism I see, the less I think or talk about my own Jewish background. The more fascism and antisemitism crop up, the more determined I get not to let it go.

The frustrating thing is that everything has been reduced so completely to a binary “you either support Israel or you would be happy to see it wiped off the face of the Earth.” And it simply cannot be that simple. I don’t even know if the problems in the area are solvable… but I know that it’s not as simple as sign on to everything the right-wing government says or let the country be obliterated.
