This holiday season is going to be pretty neat for me. My Jewish sister is going over to our big sister’s place tonight and we’re going to make Latkes for Chanukah.
Then on Friday I’m going to my Jewish sister’s place after work at her request for the lighting of her menorah and a viewing of the Rugrat’s episode on it.
On the 21st, the bae and I are celebrating the solstice with two of our pagan friends. I’m not sure there are particular plans for Yule they’re planning to specifically observe that day but still.
And then of course I will be doing Christmas Eve with the majority of my family (most of which were raised and never really fell far from Christianity). So I got lots of holiday shenanigans! Gonna be a good holiday season for this agnostic/atheist XD
Shenanigans is a good word for that kinda stuff. 😀 A couple years ago we had a Jewish Israeli family over for Christmas, and it was hilarious fun, especially when they took selfies under the tree and we tried to figure out tradition overlap. There were also no less than five languages around the table being translated back and forth as some of the older people did not have any speech in common.
I myself am also non-religious. XD
Gurdy, this is Amuurica! We’ll only speak English! Haha. Jk. We only Know English. Really neeed to start one of those free apps for other languages one of these… years x.x
But that sounds really awesome!! Even better than ours. I did give my sis a Chanukah present tonight, but she showed up too late to do latkes. Maybe she’ll want to do them Friday. I have a feeling she might. Tonight ended up being more lowkey. My older sister’s place is a bit unpredictable with my newborn niece there. The poor baby’s been having stomach aches and is very gassy. Her screech-crying drove the bae and I out. It was causing headaches. I legit don’t know how people do it!
