Disjointed thought about how activism isn’t black and white. The whole just ‘ask pronouns’ thing was what I used to think I would like to do. But then I got close to someone who would find that question dysphoric.

In a world where everyone just gets asked their pronouns this might not be the case, but as it is, I’ve never heard that question asked in the wild except for to this friend.

It said to that friend ‘you do not pass’ and that friend isn’t open. It was… unpleasant. It leaves me with the feeling that I’m better off using the displayed gender characteristics if I can’t get a pronoun first (which is my general plan of action…). But ofc, that’s super tricky too because butch women get misgendered enough.

It’s all… hella freaking complicated and I’m not really sure there’s a totally correct answer
