Is that a phrase you’ve ever heard applied to male/male pairs? Or is it only male/female pairs that get this applied to them, with the implication that a romantic relationship would be mutually exclusive of mutual appreciation and respect?

Is it that the mutual appreciation and respect is considered inherent for M/M? Is it that mutual appreciation and respect is considered exceptional in M/F?
