I volunteered with meals on wheels so this devastates me. so keep on donating people. save this organization so the elderly can have food.
There’s actually a petition that calls for the saving of Meals on Wheels…. it may not be much, but any effort to save this organization may help
On the upside to all of Trump’s funding cuts:
A lot of organizations have seen a HUGE increase in donations and volunteers, including Planned Parenthood and Meals on Wheels.
I hate that it’s happening, but it’s hilarious that Trump’s plan is backfiring because his rhetoric is making people be charitable.

the problem with that that the rise in donations is probably only temporary, as new things will come up in the world ppl will forget about it, won’t have more money to donate etc. so while it’s a nice show of the better side of humanity, it won’t be a solution 😦
It also just moves responsibility onto individuals, often the individuals who need the service most. And it’s one step in normalizing the coming rhetoric of ‘well obvy if it can survive without federal funding it’s not needed.’
Not to say don’t donate, just that this situation is fucking terrible and I hate it
