Camouflage by © William Kleinfelder

it’s normal for aspen trees to have very realistic looking ‘eyes’! actually, they’re just dramatically colored knotholes formed when the branches break off. this might be a little startling to people who have never seen them before, but i promise it’s perfectly normal. any blinking or screaming is also absolutely, completely normal.
