I just cannot with this. It is so totally possible to have different versions of a thing that allow people with different needs to do the thing without ruining it for everyone. All it takes is for people to stop being snobs.
Different bicycles shouldn’t exist because there is only one way to cycle correctly!
Movies should not come out on dvd because then people won’t bother seeing them in the cinema and that’s the whole point!
Books should not be translated because then no one would learn foreign languages!
You should not stand on an escalator because it is actually stairs and stairs are meant to be climbed!
Video games should not be cross-platform because you can’t possibly have the same experience playing a game designed for the console on your PC!
Tours are a bad thing because Real Travelers explore on their own and anyone doing it differently is just taking the easy way out!
Ski lifts are bullshit, you’re there to exercise, walk up the mountain!
Audiobooks are a travesty, just listen to music if you can’t manage to read the book yourself, you don’t have to be able to enjoy that specific form of entertainment.
Allergen-free foods stupid, if you can’t eat peanuts just suck it up and eat fruit instead of chocolate bars.
Vegetarian tofu hot dogs? The whole point of a hot dog is it’s made of meat, why do you need to have that?
etc etc
and the saddest thing is some of these are real. Like people legit have a problem enjoying something they like if it’s more inclusive than they expected.
