People who do casting are supposed to be able to find the best actor for the part. It’s their job. If they can’t find a good Asian actor to play an Asian character then they’re shit at their job.
When filmmakers, especially in big studios, decide that the compromises they will make in order to get a movie can include racism, or at the very least cultural insensitivity, that is totally on them. No excuses. They’re responsible for their decision.
