Inordinately angry at a morning talk show moment where they essentially mocked millennials for being the generation most anxious about taxes. Some of the things they said: they don’t get it. Why would we be so anxious? We can just click on our phone and be done with it. Why would we be the most anxious in particular about filing paper taxes (not 100% that’s what they said, but it sounded a bit like that)? Why would we be worried about the consequences of getting something wrong? Why would we be worried about getting the most on our return? How hard can it be?
UMMMMMMMM Maybe because our generation spans from what? 18 to 34. So literally EVERYONE WHO IS DOING THEIR TAXES FOR THEMSELVES FOR THE FIRST TIME!
Also, a ton of people with school shit to include on their taxes from tuition shit to interest payments.
Also, broke as fuck and crushed under that debt so trying to get back what we can.
And how about BUYING CARS/HOUSES FOR THE FIRST TIME E-V-E-R-.
Also, WE DON’T KNOW WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES ARE. Like fuck. If we’re doing this for the first fucking time or the fourth (me) fucking time in our lives, we haven’t actually seen what happens when audited or told we’ve fucked up.
Also, How about the fact that 25 – 34 is often THE FIRST TIME YOUR ADDING A DEPENDENT OR CHILDREN ONTO YOUR FUCKING TAXES AND THAT CHANGES THINGS.
Like, I have a better question for them, why WOULDN’T we be the most anxious about doing our taxes?!?! What the actual fuck radio people????
Fuck do I hate morning talk shows. (•᷅д•᷄)
