Fishing cat kittens tend to be born in the spring, and by two months old are able to eat meat and take their first swim.  However, they are still dependent on their mother’s milk until they reach six months of age, and stay with their mothers for over a year.  There are some reports that male fishing cats help to raise the kittens, but this has not been verified.
